Promoting GNU/Linux use in London/Middlesex

Be Back Soon

The site will be down periodically for updates and other major changes. It will be back with a minimalist theme geared towards the community's needs.

Thanks.

Welcome!

I would like to welcome you to LondON Linux. We are a Linux Users Group located in London, Ontario. We are still new, so the site will change frequently. Please check back often.

If you are interested in joining our group, please sign up at the "Login" link at the top left of the page. Registration is free.

We have not had any meetings yet, but I have been planning our first installfest. I am hoping we can find a suitable location and maybe a few sponsors. If you have issues with the site and are signed in, please don't hesitate to send me a note with the site-wide contact form. If you are having trouble signing in, please send me an email. My address can be found on the "About Us" tab beside the "Login" tab.

Mailing list is available through link at top of page and does not require registration at this site. Use "News Aggregator" in left panel to browse recent mailing list posts from within this site.

Thanks

Installfest 2010

Date: TBA

Possible Locations (features)

  1. London Public Library (auditorium, classroom, reception area, (bar?), wired & wireless internet)

Suggested Talks/Seminars

Calling all Philanthropists!

We are in the process of trying to set up an installfest, and need volunteers. If you live in London/area and know enough about Linux to help out a new user, please consider giving up a little bit of your time. I won't get in to the benefits of having a program like this, as I'm sure you understand the importance of community events to Linux and FOSS.

If you are interested, please register on the site and send me a note. Groups are also available on Facebook and Yewie, but it's important to keep discussions in public indexed forums.

Thanks

LF: Extra Computer Hardware

If anybody has extra hardware that they are willing to donate, I would like to do reviews on various distributions. I currently have a few spare hard drives and a network card. I also have an extra monitor/mouse/keyboard and cables. You can loan hardware if you would like to support the project but can't spare it permanently. If you have a complete system, and would like to do some reviews, send me a message and we'll work out the details.

Thanks

Jean-Paul
